Al-Furqan Masjid is the second purpose-built and one of the largest mosques in Glasgow, located in the west end of the city. The most inspiring value of Al-Furqan is its multi-denomination position – representing all Muslims from any background.
Volunteer for Al-Furqan
Volunteers play an integral role in what we do. We have many opportunities for volunteers to get involved, from Mosque management to educational work, contributing to the community or helping with administrative tasks, social media, and more.
Al-Furqan School
We aim to create productive Muslims through quality education. Al-Furqan school aims to educate Muslim youth about the teachings of Islam in such a way that they can thrive in the non-Islamic world and lead lives according to Islamic principles.
WORK & ACTIVITIES
Outreach/Da'wah
AlFurqan Outreach aims to convey the true message of Islam to the wider community and empowering the Muslims to present Islam in a confident, eloquent and an accurate manner.
Elderly Care
Al-Furqan Ageing Well Project provides opportunities for cross-cultural interaction by collaborating with existing services providers to make them accessible for the elders from the Muslim community.
Education and Learning
Al-Furqan Islamic School established by the UKIM Glasgow in 1982 facilitates the Muslim community to equip their children with basic knowledge of Quran & Sunnah.
Community & Social Welfare
The Social and Welfare Committee is responsible for providing programs and services to enhance the living conditions of Muslims in adverse circumstances both within the community, and also internationally.
Youth Work
Al-Furqan Youth runs various projects and programs for the local youth between the ages of 8 and 18. The main goal of Al-Furqan Youth is to create more productive Muslims.
Tarbiyya & Personal Development
Personal Development means the systematic development and training of human resources. The Tarbiya process exceeds the level of individuals to the level of the group trying to establish a team spirit.
